CORONAVIRUS / COVID-19
DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC WE ARE NO LONGER HOLDING MORNING WALK IN SURGERIES.
We are now triaging all GP and Nurse Practitioner appointment requests by telephone. The clinician will then decide how best to deal with your problem.
Please use e-consult as much as you can.
Do NOT attend routine nurse appointments if you have Coronavirus symptoms.
- We are still open to collect prescriptions and paperwork. Please do this before 2pm as respiratory cases are seen later in the afternoon.
- If you have to stay at home because of Cornavirus and you need a note for your employer you can get one online here : https://111.nhs.uk/isolation-note/
We are taking these measures to protect our patients and staff.
Welcome to Rockliffe Court Surgery. We aim to provide high quality accessible healthcare within our friendly welcoming surgery. To maximise accessibility we operate an open walk-in surgery every morning when anyone attending between 8.30am and 9.30am will be seen by a doctor in the order of their attendance. Unless there are unforeseen circumstances there will be two doctors seeing patients in the walk-in every morning. Appointment surgeries are also held in the mornings, afternoons and evenings until 6pm.
As you may be aware Dr Macnaughton-Jones had reduced her sessions due to her own health issues. While Dr Kent and Dr Williams have been off sick she had returned full time and this has had a detrimental effect on her health. She is now currently off sick as well. Although you will be disappointed that you cannot see your usual GP, we have a great team of regular Locums available.
Our team are working hard and we thank you for your understanding at this time and wish our GPs a speedy recovery.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays we have bookable early morning appointments from 7:30am. The walk-in surgery still starts at 8:30am on those days.
We close once a month for mandatory protected learning for all staff. Currently sessions are scheduled in 2020 for 29th April, 21st May, 16th June, 16th July, 12th August, 17th September, 13th October, 18th November and 17th December. In 2021 they are scheduled for 20th January, 11th February and 16th March. Sessions begin at 12pm and last for the rest of the day.
The A+E department at the hospital should be used for accidents and emergencies only. Please try to use our walk-in surgeries rather than attending the urgent care centre which is now at Darlington Memorial Hospital next to A+E. The surgery is charged for A+E and urgent care centre attendances.
GP and Nurse appointments are available on the weekends and evenings at Dr Piper House. Saturday 8am-2pm, Sunday 9am-1pm, Monday to Thursday 6:30pm-9pm and Friday 6:30-8:30pm. You must make an appointment so please contact the Rockliffe Reception team or call 111.
If you have chest pain, severe difficulty breathing, serious bleeding or think you may have had a stroke please dial 999.
